At the time of its founding, All-Clad used a patented "roll bonding" process by which metals are sandwiched together and then formed into a cooking vessel. The company derived its name from this cladding process, which is applied not only on the bottom but extends all the way up the sides of each cooking vessel. I do wish that All-clad would consider making nesting pans with detachable handles like Cristel. Apartments are getting smaller and its certainly great to get rid of the handles to add more storage space. I have 13 nested pans in the space where I used to have 5 with handles.

I was in a restaurant supply store the other day and the sales associate told me without a doubt all clad is the best brand of cookware. It is also very expensive. I enjoy cooking on stainless compared to nonstick. I think steel pans last a lot longer then non stick which I find I have to replace even a high end brand after a few years. 781b155fdc
